Dr. Whitted attended college at the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated in 1968 with a B.A. in zoology. The next three years were spent as an army officer in the Medical Service Corps. Working alongside medical and dental practitioners, Dr. Whitted realized his love for healthcare, and upon leaving the army attended U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry for four years, graduating in 1975 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.
He opened his Stockton office on January 3, 1977 and has been at the same location ever since. Along the way, he has been the volunteer optometrist for the San Francisco 49ers while their spring training was in Stockton. He has also helped the UOP athletic department give physicals to the athletes, provided volunteer eyecare for the UOP football team and did eye exercises on all the members of the UOP women’s national champion volleyball team.
Dr. Bill Whitted provides general eyecare, treats eye diseases and injuries, and is the only low vision subspecialist eye doctor between Sacramento and Modesto, providing low vision help so that people with subnormal vision can read and perform other tasks.
